SENIOR YOUTH THEATRE is for students age 7 to 12 years.  Students do not need any previous stage or acting experience, however, they do need to be prepared to contribute, work hard and have loads of fun.

Youth Theatre is NOT a holiday care program, it is serious theatre for those that are keen to learn and be on stage.

Plays and musical plays are written so that every student receives a meaningful role with dialogue.  Roles are designed so that those with more confidence and experience can be extended, while those less confident can be nurtured.

Notes:

Please note change of PERFORMANCE TIME to 3:00pm. Easiest access to the Senior School Drama Centre is via the staff entrance off Empire Circuit. Go in the gate, turn hard right, park in the small carpark at the top of the drive. Walk up the path. The Drama Centre is the last building on your left at the top of the path. Walk around the right hand side of the building to find the main entrance.

Please supply your children with snacks, water and a packed lunch. Please note that electronic devises are only allowed during lunch break and after 3pm.

Play Synopsis

Minty & Monty, two talking mice, live in Fran & Fritz’s toyshop with Tick & Tock, two clocks that never stop arguing. One day a very spoilt boy called Romus steals a toy soldier from the toyshop. Minty & Monty agree to help Soldier’s friends, Indian, Ballerina, Clown, Robot, Train & Rag Doll, to rescue Soldier, however, will the wicked cats TC, BC and AKA, who live in the ally by the toyshop stop them? What plan do they have to teach Romas that stealing is not a very nice thing to do? Perhaps a toy court is the answer, with Tick & Tock as the Judge and Defence Council. But, will Tick & Tock stop arguing long enough to come to a decision and will they find Romus guilty or innocent?
