YOUTH THEATRE - SENIORGo Back Enrol Now

Program: YOUTH THEATRE
Program Group: SENIOR View Synopsis

SENIOR YOUTH THEATRE is for students age 7 to 12 years.  Students do not need any previous stage or acting experience, however, they do need to be prepared to contribute, work hard and have loads of fun.

Youth Theatre is NOT a holiday care program, it is serious theatre for those that are keen to learn and be on stage.

Plays and musical plays are written so that every student receives a meaningful role with dialogue.  Roles are designed so that those with more confidence and experience can be extended, while those less confident can be nurtured.

Play Synopsis

Rosie is set in the fabulous 1920's in New York City when gangsters, flappers and crooked cops ruled the roost. Fast Eddie, notorious gangster & owner of the Tropicana Nightclub, along with his side-kick Fat Freddie, has plans to take over the Ritz Nightclub from Rosie, but she and her girls are determined not to let this happen. Ginger, Eddie's Dance Captain, enlists the help of Jimmy the Gentleman, but will they support Fast Eddie or Rosie and her girls? To further complicate matters the Chicago Gang (female) have arrived in town with plans of their own. What could they be and why do the Mayor and Police Chief McGreedie keep meeting behind closed doors? Fun dance numbers and fabulous costumes.
