SENIOR YOUTH THEATRE is for students age 7 to 12 years.  Students do not need any previous stage or acting experience, however, they do need to be prepared to contribute, work hard and have loads of fun.

Youth Theatre is NOT a holiday care program, it is serious theatre for those that are keen to learn and be on stage.

Plays and musical plays are written so that every student receives a meaningful role with dialogue.  Roles are designed so that those with more confidence and experience can be extended, while those less confident can be nurtured.

Notes:

Easiest access to the Senior School Drama Centre is via the staff entrance off Empire Circuit. Go in the gate, turn hard right, park in the small carpark at the top of the drive. Walk up the path. The Drama Centre is the last building on your left at the top of the path. Walk around the right hand side of the building to find the main entrance.

Please supply your children with snacks, water and a packed lunch. Please note that electronic devises are only allowed during lunch break and after 3pm.

Play Synopsis

SYNOPSIS: Candy lives with her mean sophisticated stepmother & her spoilt, lazy stepsisters, Mercedes & Frasquita, who are members of the Chilli Babes, a Latin dance troupe. Candy loves to dance but unfortunately her stepsisters won’t let her. It is the night of the Dance Championships & Stepmother is determined her daughters will win. What tricks will their manager, Varian, come up with to ensure this? What has happened to the Chili Babes main rival, The Candy Girls (Sugar, Spice and Cinnamon)? Will the Dance Fairy arrive in time to help Candy dance? Can Detective Inspectors D1 and D2 find “the girl who lost her shoe” and get the championships back on track and who will Senor Norberto, the adjudicator, choose as the winners? Great acting roles for boys & girls, fun dance routines & fabulous costumes!
